Fisher's resistance fails to save the day

MILFORD HALL (248-6) beat HAMMERWICH FIRST XI (157) by 91 runs

HAMMERWICH slumped to a convincing defeat against an impressive Milford Hall side.

Opener Aaron Jeavons set the tone for Milford, scoring 92 before being caught off James Taylor (1-53).

Milford Hall's middle order sustained a steady flow of runs, with Paul Hollinshead (38) and Greg Bloomer (29) contributing to the 248 total before Swanwick (2-70) removed them both.

A top order collapse saw the first five Hammers men to the crease add just 20 runs.

Captain Brian Fisher (83) provided the only resistance before falling victim to Matthew Cottrell (4-36).
