History group plans research on soldiers

BURNTWOOD'S Family History Group is tackling a new project about local servicemen who died during the First World War.

Members will be examining war memorials.

They want to start by finding information on men from Burntwood and Chasetown who served in the forces and lost their lives during the war.

The group is appealing for help from anyone who has any knowledge of those who died.

It is hoped that as much detail as possible can be collected about the lives of the men and their families.

The aim is to create a book of mini biographies to form a lasting record.
