Stop the moaning, this is truly a city to be proud of

I AM becoming increasingly fed up with people writing in moaning and complaining about Lichfield.

Firstly, we have one of the loveliest cathedrals in the country which attracts visitors from all over the world and brings in revenue.

We have two lovely pools and walks; homes to varying wildlife.

We have excellent facilities in Beacon Park catering for everyone – the flower beds are truly amazing.

And we have the wonderful Garrick Theatre which is always well attended and very popular.

There is a variety of different shows which also bring in revenue to the city.

I know there is an increasing number of shops closing down, but you can see that in any town or city at the moment.

Finally, in answer to those who object to paying council tax to fund the Garrick – since my children and grandchildren are now adults, we no longer use the Beacon Park play area, but I am quite happy to pay my share to enable others to enjoy the facilities.

Let's appreciate what a beautiful place Lichfield is.
