Thursday, November 27, 2008, 00:00
Adrian Hepworth was born and brought up in Lichfield, lived in Scotch Orchard, attended Nether Stowe High School and became the captain of Lichfield Swimming Club from 1985 to 1986.
After A-levels at Nether Stowe he went on to Bristol University to study zoology and then moved to Costa Rica in 1993.
He said: "Since 1995 I have worked as a professional wildlife photographer based here in Costa Rica and after a very long wait, I am very excited to have just published a coffee table book that illustrates my 13 years of work in the national parks here, called Costa Rica: A Journey through Nature ."
Adrian was one of the winners of the 2008 BBC and Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, his 'specially commended' entry being one of just 100 winners out of 32,000 images submitted by photographers around the world.
